Jennifer Aniston thought she was "hot s---" before landing Friends and even dismissed a major career opportunity because of her "self-righteous" attitude.

During a recent appearance on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast, the Morning Show star looked back at the early days of her career and how she even turned down an offer to appear in the cast of Saturday Night Live long before she became a sitcom staple on Friends, per People.

"I always thought I was such hot s---. The story of that is all very confusing," she said, noting the details are a bit fuzzy decades later. "Honestly, today I'd have to ask Lorne, because I remember, I was in New York City, and I had a meeting with [SNL creator] Lorne Michaels, and I ran into [Adam] Sandler and [David] Spade in the room right outside. And I knew Sandler forever."

The Along Came Polly actress explained that she had an idea of what she would experience behind the scenes of the long-running sketch comedy show if she were to be a cast member and she let that influence her decision.

"I don't know why I had this self-righteous attitude of 'I don't know if women are treated the way they should be treated on the this show.' It's a very male-dominated [show], I would love to be here if it was in the Gilda Radner day," she said, adding, "Something like that. I can't remember, but I just remember Friends then happened."

Aniston went on to star on the beloved sitcom from 1994 to 2004, becoming a household name along with costars Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and the late Matthew Perry. However, she did eventually make her way to the SNL stage, hosting the show in 1999 and in 2004.
