Man Being Fired Brings Emotional Support Clown To Meeting

When New Zealand copywriter Joshua Jack was told to bring a friend or family member for support to a recent work meeting, he was pretty sure he was about to be fired.

So to cheer himself up, he paid for a clown to attend the meeting with him instead. "Sensing the bad news, I decided I'd need the best support person available, so I spent $200 [U.S. $127] to hire a clown," Jack wrote on Facebook.

As company HR officials delivered the bad news, Jack's hired friend made balloon animals while dressed in full clown makeup and attire. "It was rather noisy him making balloon animals so we had to tell him to be quiet from time to time," Jack told a radio host.

Asked what the clown thought of the scenario, Jack admitted, "He thought it was a touch unusual, but he was willing to do it."

Jack also revealed that he's already lined up a new job at a competing agency.
