Tony Petro is a graduate of Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg. He studied business administration at the University of Southern Mississippi.
He is a 1991 graduate of the National Automotive Dealers Association’s Dealer Academy #57 where he was class president. He is chief executive officer at Petro Automotive Group and dealer principal at Petro Nissan in Hattiesburg.
He is immediate past chairman of the Mississippi Automotive Dealer Association and a former member of Nissan North America’s Dealer Advisory Board.
From the beginning of his retail car business 27 years ago and during his time at the National Automotive Dealers Association Dealer Academy, it has been his personal goal to become a Time Magazine dealer of the year. Tony has been selected as Mississippi 2018 Time Magazine dealer of the year.
In addition to his business accomplishments, he is president of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Big Game Fishing Club and was chairman of the American Heart Association’s 2012 Hattiesburg Heart Walk. He is a member of the Sertoma Club of Hattiesburg and the Ole Biloxi Marching Club.
