Ford is recalling 2.9 million vehicles that could possibly move in an unintended direction due to it not shifting in the correct gear.
The recall is based off of six reports of property damage and four reports of injuries that could relate to the problem that has been brought to the National Highway Safety Administration attention. Due to the problem, the vehicles transmission may not be in the park position even if the shifter position indicates that it's in park. Some drivers have exited their vehicle only to find it rolling away which increases the risk of an injury or crash.
Vehicles involved in the recall are the 2013-2019 Escape, the 2013-2018 C-Max, 2013-2016 Fusion and the 2013-2021 Transit Connect. Click here for more.
