Taylor Swift Addresses Rumors That She Kisses Katy Perry In New Video

Taylor Swift and Katy Perry are back on friendly terms, but it seems like the rumor mill wants the pop chart-toppers to do more than just bake cookies together.

Less than a day after Swift released her anti-hater anthem, "You Need To Calm Down," personality Jaclyn Marfuggi of the "What's Your Jersey" podcast spewed a rumor onto the blogosphere, reporting that her friend worked on the track's new video and the two stars share a peck in the clip. "He said it's her and Katy Perry and they’re dressed up in the Katy Perry Met Gala burger outfit and Taylor, I think, is dressed up as french fries and they kiss," she claimed during the episode. "It's supposed to be a whole Pride video thing. I don’t know how I feel about this."

Needless to say, Swifties raised their eyebrows at the rumor, noting that the move would certainly feel more gimmicky than anything, particularly since the new track advocates for the LGBTQ community. Swift received word of the whispers and took to her Tumblr to shut down the rumors with a crystal clear response. "Guys. That is ABSOLUTELY false," the 29-year-old wrote. "To be an ally is to understand the difference between advocating and baiting. Anyone trying to twist this positivity into something it isn’t needs to calm down. It costs zero dollars to not step on our gowns."

In actual news, Swift's new song is paying off, particularly to the folks over at GLAAD. As per TMZ, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation recently started a fundraiser to support LGBTQ advocacy work during Pride month and set a goal of $1,300 as a tribute to Swift's favorite number: 13. At time of press, many of the donations were for none other than $13. During her second verse of the track, Swift sings: "You are somebody that we don't know/ But you're comin' at my friends like a missile/ Why are you mad when you could be GLAAD? (You could be GLAAD)/ Sunshine on the street at the parade/ But you would rather be in the dark ages/ Makin' that sign must've taken all night."
